Here at Modern Canines we use modern, science-based training methods that ensure high welfare standards and successful training. We use force-free, reward based training techniques to achieve great results as well as happy dogs and happy owners! Not only do we want you to achieve all your training goals but we want you to enjoy getting the results whilst building a strong bond with your dog. See below for our company ethos and what you one to one training sessions can offer you.
We stick by our 4 paw ethos to ensure you receive the highest training standards.
Reward Based Methods
All of our training is based on modern scientific research that ensures you and your dog receive great training advice and guidance that achieves brilliant results whilst maintaining high levels of welfare. Your trainer will guide you through each exercise at your own pace whilst encouraging a fun and positive training environment. No harsh methods are used, why? Because they don't need to be! From reliable recalls to calm stays, we can show you how to achieve it all with our friendly and ethical teaching.
High Welfare
The welfare of your dog is our no.1 priority. We always make our training sessions easy and fun for both you and the dog ensuring your dog is never stressed or discouraged by the training process. A stressed dog will struggle to learn, whilst a dog having fun will learn faster and keep coming back for more. This is the key to successful training and creating a great relationship with your pet.
Personal Service
No dog is the same, so we don't expect the training to be the same too. Our courses always take into consideration the behaviours you want to work on the most to ensure that you get exactly what you want from your training sessions. From the basics to fun brain games, your training is tailored to you and your dog.
Full Guidance and Support
A dog that doesn't listen can leave you frustrated and lacking in confidence. Your trainer will provide full guidance and support during your sessions and via email. Private tuition allows you to learn and practice at your own pace to give you the confidence to continue working with your dog. No matter how many questions you have, your trainer is happy to answer them all and provide full guidance for all areas of doggy care.
One to one sessions have many perks:
At Your Home
- In the comfort of your own home
- Real-life situations
- Quiet environment for the dog to learn in
- Specific training to the home environment
Home training can be a great option for very young, old or anxious dogs who may find class environments a bit too busy. Some dogs find it hard to concentrate in busy environments. If your dog struggles with this, training in your home is the best place to start before tackling more distracting environments.
One to One Tuiton
- Learn at your own pace
- Ask any questions you may have
- Receive specific advice
- Spend more time training
Classes can be busy and fast paced, depending on how many people attend the class, you may find yourself struggling to complete the exercises and not able to remember them all why you get home. By having one to one tutorials, the trainer's full attention is on only you, allowing you to learn at your own pace and ask any questions about the exercise or behaviour. The trainer can therefore ensure that you are happy and confident with the exercise before moving on.
Evenings
- After-work hours
- Fits around your work day
- Helps focus puppies' evening 'zoomies'
- Tires your dog out for the evening
Classes aren't always held during times that are convenient for clients. By providing evening sessions with clients, k9 home schooling wants to help people who are too busy to attend scheduled classes. Training in the evening will also leave your dog tired, ready for when you want to relax.
Accessibility
- No driving to a class
- Great for people with no car
- Saves commute time to a dog club
- Good for dogs that don't travel well
Perhaps you've been at work and don't want to make the drive to the evening dog class, or maybe you don't have a car and this has stopped you gaining access to training lessons? Home training is a great alternative to classes as there's no commute which great for people without transport, with dogs who don't travel well and also gives you more time at home.
